Junior high school students from Indonesia enjoyed the experience of making soba noodles and eating freshly made soba noodles.

On Thursday, January 23, 2025, wonderful Indonesian junior high school students enjoyed making soba noodles at the Soga Community Center in Chiba City.
They started by “pressing” by hand or with a rolling pin. Everyone concentrated and listened to the instructions carefully, and performed each step one by one.
One student even asked questions about buckwheat flour in well Japanese.
Some students stretched the noodles a little too much, and some even broke them, but they all had fun making the noodles. Even in the final step of “cutting”, they were surprised by the large soba cutting knife, but they cut the soba little by little and skillfully. They made delicious country-style soba noodles that were a little thick.
After the experience, I boiled the freshly made soba noodles and they ate them, saying “OISHII!!!”.
Everyone enjoyed the soba noodles, asking for second servings.
I think it was a fun experience for them to travel in Japan. I would be happy if the soba-making experience was one of the scenes that remained in their memory.
Please come to Japan again to enjoy delicious soba noodles.
